Game Description:
Explore an open, post-apocalyptic city, delving into run-down shops and apartments, where mutated creatures run rampant. Few survivors remain alive in a small, secure settlement. Paying off your debt to the mafia will be no easy task as you dive into the dangerous, contaminated city of Castan.
Design Decisions:
-
Immersion- it was important to us to ensure that our game world felt immersive, this was kept in mind when designing the enviroment with us trying to make sure it really had the concrete jungle feel that modern cities have. This was also carried across into the design of the systems, with us trying to keep as many things physical and not menu based.
-
Tense Moments- as the game is a relatively relaxed experience, we still wanted to give the player moments of exhilaration to keep them hooked. We did this through splitting the game into days and placing a time limit on them. This forces players to keep an eye on the clock whilst exploring and creates some good gameplay moments of rushing back to the settlment with 1 minute before you pass out, fending off enemies in hopes to save your loot.
